Memphis Meats is science fiction in action. Factory farms are bad for the environment, the animals, and the health of people eating the meat. THey require a large amount of land, and water to grow feed for the animals.
But people love meat. They love meat so much, that it's one of the biggest growing sectors as soon as a country industrializes (China stat?), and most of all, people are not going to give up their meat without a fight, no matter how strong PETA, or other movements become.
What's exciting about Memphis Meats is unlike companies like Impossible Meats, that they start from the idea that people want actual meat. Not plants.
They're hiring across a wide variety of disciplines, many outside the typical software engineering persona, and now is an exciting time to get involved.
